Children and Braces
When most people think of braces, they think of children or teenagers. Most treatment begins between the ages of 9 and 14. However, by the age of 7, many children will have a mixed set of adult and baby teeth. We can spot subtle problems with jaw growth and erupting teeth while some baby teeth are still present. Some of these orthodontic problems, if detected early, can be corrected more easily and possibly prevent unhealthy teeth and jaw problems if left un-treated too long.

For these reasons, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child get an orthodontic check-up no later than age 7. While their teeth may look straight, there could be a problem that only orthodontists can detect. Of course, the check-up may reveal that your child's bite is fine, and that can be very comforting news. For more information about orthodontic treatment, visit the American Association of Orthodontists website.

Adults and Braces
Now adults are also enjoying the new self-confidence and improved dental health that orthodontics can offer. An attractive smile is a valuable asset in both our business and social world. You are never too old to enjoy the benefits of orthodontics. We offer both esthetic braces that are tooth-colored to blend in with the color of your teeth; and the "invisible braces" that resemble clear retainers to accurately and gently move your teeth into a straighter, more beautiful smile.
