New Patient Consultation

Your new patient consultation is designed to be an informative visit. We offer to take two digital orthodontic x-rays at the beginning of this visit to allow Dr. O'Neill to accurately determine the course of treatment required and to share with you the details of the prescribed treatment plan. These x-rays are used as a diagnostic tool for the Doctor's use only; they remain the sole property of the office and will not be distributed without consent of the patient or the patient's legal guardian. The customary consultation fee is waived.

Your First Visit For Treatment

At the first visit to the orthodontist, if treatment is indictated we may take diagnostic records to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

You will be asked to fill out three forms before your first visit. Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment to allow time to fill out at our office. Or, if you would like to fill out the forms in advance and bring them with you, please download below.

Regular Appointments

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance, it is sometimes difficult to reschedule missed appointments immediately.

Insurance and Billing

O'Neill Orthodontics offers a variety of payment options that make having straight teeth within your reach. We accept all traditional insurance plans. We are participating providers for the following insurance plans:

- Metlife
- Carefirst BC/BS
- Delta Dental of PA
- PA Blueshield (United Concorida PPO plan - UCCI)
- Dentamax

If your insurance provider is not listed above, we will gladly process all claims for traditional indemnity insurance coverage. Contact us for more information.
